The narrative takes a significant turn with the arrival of Mallory, a grieving mother seeking peace for her deceased son. She offers Messorem a deal: complete this final task, and in return, Messorem will finally find their own eternal rest.
To fulfill this pact, Messorem must embark on a journey to gather the son's estranged family for his funeral, a task complicated by the family's circumstances.
