Overview
Third District is an abandoned town. KUMANO is a 3D exploration-led narrative adventure about seven days spent there by a boy who has lost his memory, together with his companion Nezu. There are only three things you do: walk, meet, and choose.
What you actually do
- Walk — roam Third District freely and take in the town and the lives of the people still in it
- Meet — pick a place and talk to the residents. What conversations and events you find shift with when you visit, what you are carrying, and what you have chosen so far
- Choose — every choice is yes or no. Nothing more. Those small answers accumulate and slowly bend the story
There are three endings. Because the same location shows you different things depending on when you arrive and what you hold, how you walk becomes the story.
Why it is featured here
Narrowing every choice to yes or no is a good decision. Rather than manufacturing complexity through branch count, the design puts its weight on making one place wear different faces. The pixel-drawn streets carry a texture that feels remembered rather than new, and the devlog videos translate straight into the finished thing.
Who is making it
Developed and published by moly, working solo. It is their first game, and the process is posted publicly on X and YouTube. That is why it sits on this site's home page: we have been watching it get made.
